Attractive Gums

Most dentists and periodontists in Beverly Hills and Los Angeles will focus their smile improvement efforts on perfectly-aligned, pearly white teeth. But unlike other dentists, I also take the time to remind my patients about the importance of healthy-looking gums. Gums and jaw bone play a critical role in supporting your teeth and contributing to the overall health of your smile. I perform cosmetic gum surgery to protect my patients' gum health and appearance, particularly for those who have black gums and teeth.
As a gum specialist and periodontist in Beverly Hills who specializes in treatment of the area around your teeth, I have acquired the specialized skills and knowledge needed to keep your gums looking and feeling their best. Whatever issue you may have with your gum health or appearance, I am committed to providing thorough treatment in a comfortable office environment.

Aesthetic Gum Treatment & Gum Bleaching
Many people are unhappy with their dark gums, or gums with splotchy dark patches, and find the discoloration to be very unappealing and detracting from their smile. Usually, this condition is a cosmetic issue and not necessarily a sign of a dental health problem. Both men and women seek treatment, though women are often more self-conscious about their discolored gum appearance. As the pioneer of a procedure to treat discolored or dark gums, and one of the few dental professionals nationwide offering black gum bleaching, I have treated celebrities, business leaders, and high-ranking officials. Learn more about how my Beverly Hills gum bleaching treatments can improve your smile.
Gum Grafting & Root Coverage
Patients may experience a receding gum line either because their gum tissue is overly thin and delicate or because they are suffering from periodontal disease. Without treatment, most gum recession will continue to worsen, and eventually cause bone deterioration, raising the risk of tooth loss. In addition, receding gums, especially at the front of the mouth, look unattractive and unhealthy. To treat gum recession, I can perform a cosmetic gum surgery procedure called gum grafting, which involves transplanting gum tissue to shore up the receding area. Instead of using tissue from a patient's own palate, which causes unnecessary discomfort through an additional surgery, over the past 10 years I have been using AlloDerm, a naturally-derived material, with tremendous success.
Bone Grafting & Ridge Preservation/Augmentation
Missing teeth can be cute on a child, but for an adult, it can be unflattering and cause harmful bone deterioration, which may lead to jaw pain, headaches, poor nutrition, and further tooth loss. For my patients who are missing teeth, I often need to reinforce and build up surrounding bone by performing bone graft or ridge preservation before I complete any tooth restoration procedures, such as placement of a dental implant. These procedures provide good outcomes for patients who have already seen some bone deterioration, or need to augment the height or width of bone, fill anatomical voids, or correct congenital defects.
Los Angeles Dentist Treating Periodontal Disease
Almost eight out of 10 American adults over the age of 35 have some form of periodontal (gum) disease. If left untreated, gum disease can cause bad breath, swollen and receding gums, extremely sensitive teeth, and eventual tooth loss. Also, independent studies have indicated a relationship between gum disease and development of cardiovascular disease, stroke, bacterial pneumonia, and other conditions such as pancreatic cancer. As a periodontist in Los Angeles, I can professionally treat periodontal disease using the latest technology and laser treatments to help you maintain your overall health.
